Volumetric Absorptive Microsampling

Volumetric absorptive microsampling (VAMS®) is used for remote collection of capillary blood or other biological fluids. A sample of less than 50 µl blood is collected, dried and sent via regular mail to a central laboratory for analysis.

This technology is similar to the dried blood spots technique that has been used for more than 40 years, yet has a few significant advantages, such as a more simple, user-friendly dried blood collection approach. VAMS® has the potential to reduce analysis costs and number of clinical visits and may be used to monitor study drug adherence.

At CTC, we look forward to implementing the VAMS® technology in more clinical trials in the future. The method is perfect for virtual clinical trials but may be used for at home sampling in most trials.

We provide our customers with cost-effective advice, conduct and reporting of clinical trials.
